Head of Strategic Finance

About the role

Cohere, a security‑first enterprise AI company, is looking for a Head of Strategic Finance to lead financial planning, forecasting, product pricing strategy and fundraising initiatives. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the Executive Team, you will provide analysis that supports contract negotiations, growth opportunities and corporate strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic financial planning, budgeting, long‑term forecasting and assist in fundraising strategy development.
• Partner with the CFO and Investor Relations to prepare fundraising, investor and board materials.
• Perform financial analyses for Annual Operating Plan, M&A, strategic investments, partnerships and capital market transactions.
• Provide recommendations to executive management based on financial and strategic implications of investment decisions.
• Construct ad‑hoc scenario, sensitivity and contingency analyses to support internal decisions and fundraising.
• Manage long‑term planning and operational benchmarking in coordination with the FP&A team.

Required profile

• 15+ years of leadership experience in strategic finance, building and scaling finance teams in high‑growth SaaS or technology environments.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML market dynamics, pricing strategies and enterprise sales cycles.
• Proven track record implementing finance governance frameworks and controls during rapid scaling.
• Executive‑level presentation and communication skills with experience in investor relations and capital raising.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and financial modeling (including M&A, valuation and fundraising models).
• Data visualization tools for enterprise‑level financial planning.
