Head of Marketing

About the role

Haystack News is seeking a Head of Marketing to drive the next phase of growth. This high‑impact, hands‑on leadership role will shape the brand, acquire new users, and expand the premium subscription business across mobile, web, and connected TV.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a data‑driven marketing strategy that blends awareness, performance, and retention across all platforms.
• Lead brand and consumer marketing, overseeing storytelling from social media to product messaging.
• Own performance and growth campaigns to drive installs, engagement, and subscriptions using paid, organic, and partnership channels.
• Launch and scale creator‑driven affiliate and influencer programs.
• Shape public relations and thought‑leadership initiatives, positioning Haystack as an innovator in FAST, local news, and AI personalization.
• Partner with analytics and product teams to define KPIs, optimize creative performance, and measure lifetime value.
• Build, mentor, and manage a small, cross‑functional marketing team.

Required profile

• 8+ years of marketing experience, including leadership in consumer growth, performance, or brand marketing (preferably in streaming, media, or DTC).
• Proven ability to launch campaigns from zero to millions of users with limited resources.
• Strong analytical background with a track record of meeting CAC and RoAS targets.
• Deep understanding of both brand storytelling and data‑driven marketing.
• Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with mobile attribution tools (MMPs)
