Head of Finance – Russian Speaker

About the role

WhizzWhizz is seeking a Head of Finance who is fluent in Russian to lead its finance and accounting function. This operational role focuses on accurate reporting, disciplined budgeting, and strong financial control for a fast‑growing e‑bike subscription business serving gig delivery workers across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and ensure accuracy of the P&L, cash flow statement, and balance sheet; manage the monthly close on schedule.
• Oversee inventory and fleet accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, fixed‑asset register, disposals, and reconciliation of operational inventory.
• Maintain and update the company’s financial model; build annual and quarterly budgets with department heads and track performance against plan.
• Develop and enforce financial controls such as approval procedures, spend limits, segregation of duties, and cash/receivables/payables oversight.
• Manage in‑house accountants and an outsourced accounting firm, defining responsibilities and ensuring deadlines and quality standards.
• Supervise payroll, multi‑state tax registrations and filings, statutory reporting, and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and product teams on pricing, new city launches, vendor contracts, and payment system changes, identifying financial implications early.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in accounting and finance, including full monthly close ownership as a Controller or Head of Finance.
• Experience in the US market with inventory and fixed‑asset accounting for a physical, asset‑heavy business.
• Multi‑state payroll and tax compliance background.
• Proven ability to build finance processes from the ground up.
• Experience managing both internal accounting staff and external providers.
