Head of Facilities

About the role

Cowboy Space Corp. is seeking a senior-level Head of Facilities to lead the strategy, development and operation of its satellite manufacturing and corporate sites. Based at the San Carlos headquarters, you will ensure that facilities meet high-reliability aerospace standards and support rapid scaling toward full-rate production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi-year facilities roadmap aligned with production and headcount growth.
• Lead site selection, build-outs, expansions, consolidations and future geographic expansion.
• Oversee cleanroom design, certification, maintenance and compliance with aerospace and export-control standards.
• Manage power systems, compressed gases, HVAC, thermal control, vibration isolation and EMI/EMC requirements.
• Support satellite Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) including TVAC chambers, shaker tables and electronic testing areas.
• Partner with engineering to future-proof lab and production layouts.
• Own facility uptime, reliability, safety metrics and asset lifecycle tracking.
• Manage third-party vendors, service providers and regulatory compliance (OSHA, environmental, aerospace).
• Control facilities operating budget, capital expenditures and ROI-driven expansion proposals.
• Build and lead a high-performing facilities and site services team.

Required profile

• 10+ years of facilities leadership experience in aerospace, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing or similarly high-spec environments.
• Proven ability to scale facilities for rapid growth and to manage complex compliance requirements.
• Strong track record of budgeting, capital planning and vendor management.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and operations.
