Head of Engineering

About the role

Lead Quanta's engineering organization, shaping the team, processes, and culture while building a next‑generation financial operating ledger. You will sit on the leadership team, work closely with the CEO, and define engineering effectiveness in the AI era.

Key responsibilities

• Own hiring end‑to‑end for a high‑caliber team of 7 engineers, sourcing, closing, and maintaining a high bar.
• Invest in team growth through mentorship, feedback, and career development.
• Create clarity on priorities, establish appropriate processes, and ensure delivery across workstreams.
• Balance short‑term output with long‑term technical health, providing architectural guidance and production readiness.
• Influence company strategy, anticipate future team needs, and communicate proactively across the organization.

Required profile

• Experience managing and scaling engineering teams at a startup, ideally as the first or sole engineering leader.
• Proven track record of hiring strong engineers who had multiple options.
• Technical depth respected by peers, capable of mentoring on architecture and complex problems.
• Comfort operating in high‑ambiguity environments without existing playbooks.
• Opinionated about engineering culture and effectiveness.

Required skills

• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Deep understanding of software architecture and production readiness.
• Experience with building financial systems, ledgers, or accounting workflows (bonus).
