Hardware Platform Engineer (Mid‑Senior)

About the role

Revel is building a next‑generation software stack for safety‑critical hardware across aerospace, automotive, energy and manufacturing. As a Hardware Platform Engineer you will own the selection, qualification and integration of the computing and networking platforms that run this stack.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and qualify x86 and ARM platforms, SSDs, RAM, NICs and networking equipment for demanding environments.
• Bring up Linux on new hardware, configure kernels, device trees and drivers, and tune the OS for real‑time performance.
• Develop tooling to monitor fleet health, track thermal behavior, disk wear, firmware versions and feed data into Prometheus/Grafana.
• Implement platform security features such as Secure Boot, TPM 2.0, disk encryption and image signing for air‑gapped systems.
• Design and execute hardware validation campaigns, define test plans, run thermal stress and long‑duration stability tests, and document go/no‑go decisions.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in platform engineering, systems programming or embedded systems.
• Deep understanding of hardware datasheets, firmware quirks and component lifecycle risks.
• Strong knowledge of the Linux kernel, boot process and real‑time tuning.
• Experience writing system‑level tooling; comfortable with C/C++ and willing to work in Rust.
