Half-Time Faculty - Undergraduate Healthcare Administration

About the role

Abilene Christian University (ACU) is hiring a half-time faculty member to teach undergraduate Healthcare Administration courses in its online classroom. The position is remote and requires the candidate to be a professing Christian and to support the Christian mission of the university.

Key responsibilities

• Take part with the program faculty and Program Director in planning, developing and implementing the program and curriculum, and give feedback to the Program Director on program and course improvement.
• Attend and complete program and CLPS faculty trainings, and update credentials and records as required.
• Maintain professional competence through current practice, professional reading, research and continuing education, and take part in scholarly activities described in the ACU Faculty Handbook.
• Teach online, giving high-quality instruction, direction and support, and provide encouraging yet constructive feedback on student work.
• Group students for assignments and discussions, answer their questions promptly, enter final grades in the Banner system and alert the Program Director to student issues such as performance problems or policy violations.
• Follow the university's Faculty Handbook, the College of Graduate and Professional Studies' policies and the HCAD program teaching philosophy.

Required profile

• Professing Christian who supports the university's Christian mission.
• Terminal degree in healthcare administration or a closely related field.
• Prior teaching experience, preferably online.
• Completion of all university and campus on-boarding requirements.
