Group Tax Director – US Tax Leadership

About the role

We are looking for a Group Tax Director to lead and optimise Bending Spoons’ U.S. tax function. The role will ensure full compliance with federal, state and local tax laws while supporting strategic business decisions and long‑term growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee U.S. federal, state and local tax compliance and planning, including corporate income, franchise, sales and use taxes.
• Calculate tax liabilities, prepare and file all U.S. tax returns and manage tax matters related to equity plans, employees and contractors.
• Ensure correct tax treatment of employee benefits, compensation and welfare programmes.
• Conduct U.S. tax due diligence for acquisitions and support tax‑efficient structuring and integration of transactions.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation, identify savings opportunities such as R&D credits and liaise with the IRS, state authorities and external advisors.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and reasoning ability; capable of solving complex tax problems from first principles.

Required skills

• Valid CPA licence or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential to represent the company before the IRS.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. corporate tax compliance, planning and reporting.
• Experience with tax due diligence, acquisition integration and R&D tax credits.
