Groundskeeper / Porter for La Terraza Community

About the role

The Groundskeeper/Porter will maintain the appearance and safety of the La Terraza community in San Jose. This entry‑level position supports the service team by keeping common areas, amenities, and surrounding grounds clean and well‑maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Remove trash, litter, debris and pet droppings from all common areas and amenities throughout the day.
• Clear vacant apartments of trash and items before the make‑ready process and maintain storage areas.
• Perform minor service requests and assist the make‑ready specialist during unit turnovers.
• Change locks according to property policy and ensure pool gates operate safely.
• Distribute resident notices and communicate relevant information as needed.
• Report hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly.
• Participate in safety meetings and complete required OSHA and risk‑management training.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate; no prior experience required.
• Ability to work independently and follow established safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and respect for residents and team members.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of lock handling and safety gate operation.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards or willingness to complete training.

What we offer

• Hourly wage ranging from $19.71 to $21.00.
• Full‑time schedule: Thursday and Sunday days off, 8 am – 5 pm.
