Graphic Design Assistant

About the role

The Graphic Design Assistant will support the Office of the Special Adviser on Africa in creating visual communications for conferences, campaigns, publications and digital platforms. Working within the Strategic Management Unit, the role reports to the Senior Programme Management Officer.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in team meetings to define design projects, objectives, media, technical specifications and schedules.
• Independently develop design concepts and produce graphics for OSAA‑sponsored events, ensuring compliance with UN and OSAA branding guidelines.
• Prepare final electronic files, review color and print proofs, and coordinate production with copy‑editors, printers and other support staff.
• Assist in data collection, analysis and the creation of visual presentations, reports and web‑page updates.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a test or examination in Graphic Design is required.
• Minimum seven years of experience in publications production, desktop publishing, graphic design and layout (reduced to five years with a university degree).
• Proficiency in English (required) and French (desirable) according to UN language standards.
