Grants & Contracts Accounting Analyst – Billing

About the role

This full‑time position in the Sponsored Program Accounting division supports LSU’s $100 million+ portfolio of grants and contracts. The analyst prepares financial statements, audits expenditures, and generates invoices to ensure compliance with federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and final invoices and financial reports for sponsored accounts.
• Audit grant expenditures for allowability, allocability and timeliness, applying 2 CFR 200 and other regulations.
• Calculate monthly draws for letters of credit and journalize facilities, administrative costs and fringe benefits.
• Enter and approve transactions in the General Ledger System (GLS) and manage accounts receivable, expenditure transfers and budget adjustments.
• Communicate daily with deans, directors, faculty, research administrators and sponsor officials to resolve compliance issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (or equivalent experience) with at least 24 credit hours in accounting.
• 1+ years of professional experience in grants, contracts or related accounting work.
• Experience with Workday, grant accounting, and federal compliance.
• Physical ability to use standard office equipment and undergo a credit check.
