Graduate Research Assistant – Developer

About the role

The Graduate Research Assistant (Developer) will support the COSMOS Research Center by converting socio‑computational models into practical software tools. Working on‑campus, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create applications that analyze predictive models of socio‑technical behavior on social media, especially video‑based platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Translate predictive socio‑technical models into usable software tools.
• Develop code to identify key actors and groups across social media platforms.
• Collaborate with faculty and researchers to refine model specifications.
• Document software implementations and maintain version control.
• Present findings and tool demonstrations to the research team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Active enrollment in a graduate degree program or good standing in such a program.
• Interest in computational social science and media analytics.
