About the role
The Graduate Assistant for Research will support the Archivist and Director of the Sequoyah National Research Center in processing, organizing, and preserving archival collections. This position is designed for a current graduate student at UA Little Rock and offers 10‑20 hours of on‑campus work per week.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the accessioning, description, and arrangement of archival materials.
- Coordinate multi‑layered projects that involve collaboration with internal staff and external partners.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of collection processing activities.
- Communicate promptly with the supervisor regarding attendance and project updates.
- Engage with diverse populations, ensuring inclusive handling of collections.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Regular admission to a UA Little Rock graduate degree program or good standing with the Graduate School.
- Ability to work the required hours (10‑20 hours per week) with consistent attendance.
