Graduate Assistant – Non-Teaching, Instructional Innovation & Tech Services

About the role

The Center for Instructional Innovation & Technology Services at Prairie View A&M University is seeking a Graduate Assistant (non‑teaching) to support its computer, audio‑visual, and media labs. The role provides hands‑on assistance to faculty, staff, and students while you continue your graduate studies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist instructors and students in computer labs and other specialized labs as needed.
• Manage and maintain Panther CIC facilities, including the audio studio, podcast studio, and equipment checkout room.
• Set up and operate audio‑visual equipment for auditoriums and smart classrooms.
• Coordinate and connect multiple Zoom sessions for classes, meetings, and conferences.
• Supervise undergraduate student workers in daily lab operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Full‑time enrollment as a graduate student at Prairie View A&M University (minimum 9 credit hours fall/spring, 6 in summer).
• Good academic standing.
• Strong organization, verbal communication, and multitasking abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with Zoom or similar video‑conferencing platforms.
• Basic audio‑visual equipment configuration and troubleshooting.
