About the role
The Graduate Assistant (Non‑Teaching) supports the Department of Art Visual Communication at East Texas A&M University. Working in a front‑office capacity, the assistant ensures smooth daily operations and provides professional service to faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
Key responsibilities
- Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Answer, screen, and direct phone calls and emails.
- Maintain a welcoming reception area and manage office supplies.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and conference rooms.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, agendas, and meeting minutes.
- Manage departmental records, files, and databases.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries.
- Assist with data entry, document preparation, copying, scanning, and filing.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at East Texas A&M University.
- Maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 and be in good academic standing.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
Required skills
- Basic computer proficiency, especially Microsoft Office suite.
