Global Support Engineer I

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Global Support Engineer I to provide low‑complexity software application and system support for its equipment. The role involves troubleshooting issues reported by field engineers and delivering solutions in line with group objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Understand and resolve equipment software application and systems issues of low complexity with supervision.
• Provide customer software support via the Software Ticketing system.
• Assist in analysis of software issues reported on customer tools by field engineers.
• Demonstrate beginner‑level understanding of product, system software, and troubleshooting tools.
• Complete required trainings and certifications for product knowledge.
• Familiarize with equipment software documentation, key customer features, and installation/upgrade instructions.

Required profile

• Conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within the discipline.
• General business knowledge developed through education or past experience.
• No supervisory responsibilities; accountable for technical contribution.
• Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems and makes judgments based on analysis.
• Limited impact on team; works within standardized procedures to meet deadlines.
• Communicates straightforward information, asks clarifying questions and checks understanding.
