About the role
Join Applied Materials' 30‑month Global Supply Chain Rotational Program as a Buyer I. You will rotate through Purchasing, Project Management and Supplier Account Management, gaining hands‑on experience in a high‑tech manufacturing environment. The program culminates in a final placement where you apply the skills you have built.
Key responsibilities
- Issue RFQs, analyze proposals, negotiate prices and execute purchase orders to support volume manufacturing.
- Develop cost‑reduction strategies while ensuring quality, reliability and timely delivery of components.
- Assist in creating and implementing commodity strategies across business units.
- Resolve supply‑chain issues affecting cost, delivery or lead‑time and present solutions to stakeholders.
- Perform make‑vs‑buy analyses and provide input for outsourcing decisions.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics or a related field.
- Academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Detail‑oriented, results‑driven mindset with a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Technical knowledge of statistics, machine learning and data analytics.
- Experience with R, SAS, SQL and Python.
