Global Robotic Systems Application Engineer

About the role

Join 3M's Abrasive Systems Division as a Global Robotic Systems Application Engineer, driving innovation for automotive manufacturers worldwide. You will design, implement, and support robotic abrasive solutions while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead new product commercialization and application development for the Coated Abrasive Belt portfolio.
• Build value propositions and coordinate global field trials with lead customers.
• Engineer, install, start‑up, and provide ongoing support for robotic abrasive systems at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and develop methods to evaluate abrasive solution effectiveness.
• Leverage robotic laboratories to prototype and validate automation solutions.
• Contribute insights to product development teams and shape industry standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Science or Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• At least two years of combined robotics experience in system design, integration, programming, or application engineering (internship or co‑op qualifies).
• Experience in private, public, government, or military environments.
