General Trades Technician Level 3 – Hospital Facility Maintenance

About the role

The General Trades Tech 3 provides essential repair, maintenance, and building services for East Central Regional Hospital. Working alongside medical staff, you help keep the facility safe, comfortable, and operational for patients with serious mental illness.

Key responsibilities

• Perform skilled repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and structural systems.
• Install and maintain secure doors, locks, lighting, and climate‑control units in patient areas.
• Respond quickly to emergency maintenance issues and on‑call incidents.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of building equipment and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Track tools and materials to maintain a safe work environment.
• Read blueprints, repair manuals, and safety guides to complete tasks accurately.
• Guide and train lower‑level maintenance workers (Trades Tech 1 and 2) and participate in a rotating on‑call schedule.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least three years of experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or related trades.
• Availability for 24/7 on‑call shifts.
• Possession of relevant trade licenses or certifications (e.g., EPA HVAC license) when required.
• Experience in a hospital, healthcare center, or secure facility is preferred.
• Ability to work respectfully with adults experiencing mental health challenges.
