About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a board‑eligible General Gastroenterologist to serve patients in the Southshore region of New Orleans. The physician will provide comprehensive gastroenterology care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and travel to multiple worksites throughout the area.

Key responsibilities

Diagnose and treat a wide range of gastroenterology illnesses and disorders.
Develop individualized care plans that include medical history, physical examination, diagnosis, treatment, and referrals as needed.
Consult with other physicians, nurses, patients and families regarding treatment options and ongoing care.
Refer complex cases to specialist services while maintaining overall responsibility for continuity of care.
Travel frequently to Ochsner worksites across the New Orleans metropolitan area.

Required profile

Active license to practice medicine in Louisiana.
Completion of an internal medicine residency.
Completion of a gastroenterology fellowship.
