About the role
The General Counsel will lead the internal Legal & Business Affairs team, safeguarding the organization’s legal interests while aligning initiatives with its mission and values.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to protect and manage the organization’s intellectual property portfolio.
- Oversee contract negotiation, risk management, compliance, and dispute resolution efforts.
- Serve as trusted advisor to the Board of Trustees and executive leadership, providing strategic legal counsel.
- Manage internal and external counsel budgets and coordinate outside counsel representation.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in corporate law, preferably with a focus on intellectual property.
- Proven ability to lead legal teams and manage external counsel relationships.
- Strong advisory skills for board and senior executive audiences.
Required skills
