About the role
Under the guidance of a licensed Funeral Director, the Funeral Manager supports bereaved families in providing a dignified and respectful final farewell in accordance with Islamic customs. The role is a vital pillar of the ADAMS Center, balancing professional excellence, deep empathy, and strict adherence to religious rites.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for families, providing information on costs, protocols, and services while ensuring arrangements align with Islamic customs.
- Lead daily operations including Ghusl, shrouding, facility maintenance, vendor relations, and procurement, keeping spaces sanitized and fully stocked.
- Supervise funeral assistants and volunteers, coordinate schedules, and collaborate with the Imams’ Office, Operations, and Accounting to execute Janazah services.
- Assist the Funeral Director with death certificates, permits, and legal documentation, and manage office logistics such as multiline phone systems, payments, digital records, and audiovisual equipment.
- Coordinate and perform the religious preparation of the deceased (washing, shrouding, lifting) in strict accordance with Islamic law.
Required profile
- Associate degree in Mortuary Science or Business Administration preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- 3–5 years of professional experience, including 1–2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills focused on grief support, strong organizational abilities, and comprehensive knowledge of Islamic funeral rites.
- Ability to lift at least 75 pounds, work weekends, holidays, nights and be on‑call; valid driver’s license with clean record.
