Fundamentals Visiting Professor (Clinical Instructor)

About the role

Chamberlain College of Nursing is seeking part-time clinical instructors to teach students in its Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at its Las Vegas campus. Teaching takes place during one 12-hour shift, on weekdays or weeknights, for an 8-week session at a clinical partner site. The content covers fundamental nursing skills, focusing on health promotion and the rehabilitative aspects of patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system and profession.
• Plan clinical experiences and supervise and evaluate nursing students providing care to individuals or groups.
• Provide documented feedback on student performance and offer remediation when needed.
• Keep current on agency and clinical policies and procedures with the help of clinical personnel.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments and return homework, quizzes, tests and clinical paperwork in a timely way.
• Contribute to program and College development, and may teach didactic content under the course coordinator's supervision.
• Report student and agency issues to the course coordinator and keep them informed.
• Act as a professional role model and comply with regulatory rules and standards.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Nursing.
• At least 2 years of recent nursing practice as a registered nurse within the last five years.
• Professional Nurse licensure in the state of practice.
• Excellent communication skills, initiative and prudent judgment.
