Fully funded 4‑year PhD positions in RNAmed programme (Bavaria, Germany)

About the role

The RNAmed graduate programme offers four‑year, fully funded PhD positions in Würzburg, Munich or Regensburg. Candidates will join an interdisciplinary research environment focused on RNA‑based therapeutics, diagnostics and precision medicine.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute research projects on RNA mechanisms, synthesis, modification and delivery.
• Develop and apply CRISPR‑Cas systems, microRNA and non‑coding RNA technologies.
• Investigate RNA biology of infections and contribute to RNA chemistry innovations.
• Collaborate across three Bavarian sites and with industry partners.
• Present findings at international conferences and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in life sciences, chemistry, medicine, pharmaceutical sciences or a related discipline.
• Strong motivation to pursue an independent research career.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
