About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a full‑time pharmacist to join the UHealth Tower team, providing exceptional pharmaceutical care within a hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications, ensuring accurate dosages and proper labeling.
• Reviews and verifies prescriptions for accuracy, suitability, and potential drug interactions.
• Provides drug information, including interactions, side effects, and storage instructions to staff and patients.
• Handles incoming physician calls and transfers prescriptions.
• Logs data into applicable pharmacy systems.
• Maintains detailed pharmacy records, inventory logs, and controlled‑substance registries.
• Analyzes medication identity, strength, and purity to ensure quality and safety.
• Advises on selection of medication brands, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies.
• Conducts drug utilization reviews and monitors prescription trends to enhance patient compliance.
• Adheres to university and departmental policies to safeguard institutional assets.

Required profile

• Pharm.D. degree from an accredited institution.
• Active Florida pharmacist license.
• Minimum of one year of relevant pharmacy experience.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and sound judgment in pharmaceutical decision‑making.
• Proficient in data collection, organization, and analysis.
• Ability to recognize and address a variety of pharmaceutical challenges effectively.
