About the role

The PACU Registered Nurse provides post‑anesthesia care in a fast‑paced surgical environment, delivering compassionate, evidence‑based nursing while supporting the unit’s safety and quality goals.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Deliver evidence‑based interventions to prevent healthcare‑acquired conditions and readmissions.
• Coordinate with physicians, anesthesia staff, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient transitions.
• Assist with orientation of new staff and contribute to unit quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Associate Degree in Nursing (or Nursing Diploma) and a current, valid Arizona RN license (or compact state license).
• Minimum five years of nursing experience for full‑time weekend, evening, or night shifts.
• One year of acute care or med‑surg experience for PACU placement.

Required skills

• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• ACLS and PALS certifications within the timeframes specified by the unit.
• Basic EKG competency within 30‑90 days of hire.
• Familiarity with NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., TNCC, and de‑escalation techniques as required.
