Full-Time Online Faculty - Mathematics

About the role

ACU Dallas, part of Abilene Christian University, is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Full-Time Online Faculty Member in Mathematics. The position teaches undergraduate mathematics courses asynchronously in an online environment, designs curriculum based on sound pedagogy and mentors students. Candidates must be a professing Christian willing to support the Christian mission of ACU, and active affiliation with the Churches of Christ is strongly preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Teach full-time undergraduate mathematics courses asynchronously through the Canvas LMS.
• Develop and refine online math coursework using contemporary pedagogy, adult learning theories and evidence-based strategies.
• Provide timely feedback, maintain an active virtual presence, host regular online office hours and support student retention.
• Use digital math tools (graphing software, digital whiteboards, adaptive learning systems) and Canvas features to create interactive learning.
• Integrate a Christian worldview thoughtfully into subject matter.
• Take part in faculty meetings, assessment processes, committees and professional development.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Mathematics; a terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or a related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated background or formal coursework in education and educational pedagogy.
• Teaching experience in both traditional (in-person) and online higher education.
• Proficiency with the Canvas LMS and strong technological literacy, including video communication tools and digital grading systems.
• Active Christian lifestyle and service in a local church or community; active affiliation with the Churches of Christ is strongly preferred.
