Full-Time Night Shift Inpatient Oncology RN

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a full-time night shift Registered Nurse for its inpatient oncology unit. The nurse applies nursing process and theory to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, evaluate and modify patient care using evidence-based practice, within professional standards and hospital policy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient care autonomously and collaboratively with other disciplines, taking a leadership role in coordinating the interdisciplinary team
• Act as educator to peers, patients and families
• Participate in quality assurance or performance improvement initiatives and ensure the quality of nursing services
• Identify and communicate needed unit resources or equipment for inclusion in the budget
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred
• Clear and active RN license in the State of Florida
• AHA BLS certification for healthcare providers
• AHA PALS certification required
• NRP certification within 90 days of hire; STABLE certification within 90 days of hire
• National specialty certification within 2 years of hire
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment, including pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs and carrying or lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in a stressful environment, make sound decisions independently and work long hours standing, sitting or walking

Threshold requirements include annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, attendance at new employee orientation, TB/PPD surveillance program maintenance, and ongoing professional licensing and certification.
