About the role
R+L Carriers is seeking a full‑time Forklift Operator for its Birmingham, AL service center. You will safely move a variety of freight in and out of enclosed trailers up to 53 feet long and operate a forklift on a roofed, non‑climate‑controlled dock.
Key responsibilities
- Load and unload freight from trailers while maintaining safety standards.
- Operate a forklift on a roofed dock without climate control.
- Read and follow manifests to ensure correct handling of shipments.
- Interact with computer displays to track inventory and job assignments.
Required profile
- Physical ability to bend, lift, and stoop without difficulty.
- Dependable and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Previous forklift experience in a high‑volume setting.
- Ability to read manifests and follow procedural instructions.
