Full-Time Entrance Security Officer

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time Access Control Officer (Entrance Management) in West Columbia, SC. The role serves and safeguards clients across industries such as tech, media and telecom by managing badge access, monitoring entry points, responding to alarms and documenting security activity, while providing visible, friendly customer service to employees and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors and delivery personnel by following site-specific access control procedures, policies and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entrances, exits, visitor management systems and access credentials, verifying authorization and directing people according to site procedures.
• Respond calmly to access-related incidents, alarms and critical situations, documenting and escalating concerns per protocol.
• Carry out regular and random patrols of entry points, parking areas and the business perimeter to spot unauthorized access.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, key and incident records and communicate professionally with site personnel and leadership.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of security-related experience; customer service experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles, 21+ for armed roles.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required depending on state and local law.

Required skills

• Preferred: alarm panel experience, access control and badge experience, and comfort using a computer or tablet.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
