Full-Time Academic OBGYN Physician

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health System-Monroe Medical Center and LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport are seeking an academic obstetrics and gynecology physician in Monroe, LA. The position is an Assistant or Associate Professor role that combines inpatient and outpatient clinical practice with teaching responsibilities for medical students and residents.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver babies and manage prenatal, natal, and postnatal care, selecting the safest delivery method.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents, delivering clinical instruction.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and midwives to develop individualized care plans.
• Participate in physician leadership and contribute to departmental administration.

Required profile

• MD or DO degree.
• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Louisiana.
• Outstanding obstetric and surgical skills with a strong interest in clinical activities.
• Commitment to the education of residents and medical students.
• Robotics certification.
