Full-Time Academic Hematology Oncology Physician

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health System – Monroe Medical Center and the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center‑Shreveport are seeking a full‑time academic physician in the Section of Hematology‑Oncology. The position is at the Assistant or Associate Professor level and focuses on Hematology, Lung, Breast and/or GI oncology, with strong emphasis on teaching and research.

Key responsibilities

• Teach medical students, house staff and fellows and participate in all faculty activities.
• Conduct translational or clinical research, publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.
• Provide leadership and input at all levels of administration.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses to develop customized patient care plans.
• Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record platform for patient documentation.

Required profile

• Must be eligible for a Louisiana medical license.
• Board‑eligible or board‑certified (BE/BC) in Hematology‑Oncology.
• MD or equivalent degree.
• Interest in teaching and academic mentorship.
• J‑1 waiver visa applicants are welcome.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the EPIC EMR system.
