Full-Stack Software Engineer

About the role

Subsense is building the world’s first non‑surgical, bidirectional brain‑computer interface. We need a full‑stack engineer who can design, develop, and ship end‑to‑end applications that bring together our software, hardware, and research components into a unified platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship user interfaces for desktop, web, or mobile platforms.
• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and internal tooling using Python.
• Integrate disparate systems, services, and components into a cohesive, well‑structured platform.
• Create data pipelines and manage data flow between software and hardware.
• Take features from concept through design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Write tests and contribute to code quality, reliability, and performance across the stack.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues spanning front‑end, back‑end, and integration layers.
• Document systems and workflows to keep the codebase maintainable as we scale.
• Collaborate with hardware, research, and product teams to turn prototypes into usable software.
• Help define engineering patterns, standards, and best practices as the team grows.

Required profile

• Strong Python expertise with solid full‑stack development experience.
• Proven front‑end and UI development skills.
• Experience integrating multiple systems or services through APIs.
• Self‑directed, comfortable with ambiguity in an early‑stage environment.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Startup mindset: adaptable, resourceful, hands‑on, and execution‑focused.
