Fuel Handling Equipment (FHE) Technician

About the role

Amentum is hiring an FHE Technician to install, maintain, repair and adjust pumps, control valves, meters, strainers, filters, water separators and pipelines of liquid fuel systems at airfields, including bulk storage installations and conventional and unconventional refueling systems. The position is hourly and overtime-eligible under the Service Contract Act.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair and inspect FSE assets such as R-18 pumping units, R-19 filter separators, R-20 servicing platforms, R-21 plumbing assemblies, TASS, PMU-27 pumping carts, fuel bladders and berm liners.
• Adjust and repair pumps, control valves, meters, strainers, filters and water separators.
• Perform periodic inspections of fuel bladders and pumping units, including 90-day and 180-day inspections, and check electrical wiring, switches and controls.
• Repair, replace and adjust equipment, disassemble and calibrate gauges and meters, and perform hydrostatic hose testing.
• Maintain the shelf-life program for FSE parts and perform PMIs and function checks.
• Inventory RSP and UTC FSE kits semiannually or when directed, prepare assets for shipment and perform limited technical inspections.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2 to 5 years of job-related experience.
• Experience installing, operating, inspecting, maintaining and repairing fuel delivery systems.
• Ability to work in all weather, climb ladders and platforms, lift up to 40 pounds, and drive or operate machinery and trucks.
• English reading, speaking and writing, and basic math skills.
• Public Trust US Government clearance (US citizenship required).

Required skills

• Preferred: Fuels Apprentice Course, FORCE course or 5 years' experience, or CPJ certification.
• Training or certification must be completed within about 90 days of hire.
