Frontend Engineer Intern – 6‑Month Internship

About the role

Centerfield is looking for a Frontend Engineer Intern to join its engineering team for a six‑month, hybrid internship. You will work on consumer‑facing web interfaces that serve millions of shoppers and gain hands‑on experience with AI‑first development practices.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship new and redesigned consumer‑facing web applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Integrate front‑end features with back‑end APIs built on Node.js or Java.
• Leverage Centerfield’s custom AI development harness—agents, skills, and workflow commands—to accelerate delivery.
• Experiment with AI agents for engineering problems and share findings with the team.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to translate business goals into shipped features.

Required profile

• Genuine curiosity about AI‑driven development and experience experimenting with AI tools.
• Solid understanding of modern front‑end development (React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/Tailwind).
• Familiarity with frameworks such as Next.js and runtimes like Node.js.
• Understanding of how front‑ends communicate with back‑end services via APIs.
• Local to Playa Vista, CA and able to work on‑site three days per week.
