Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

The Forward Deployed Engineer is Thought Machine's primary technical interface with client banks. You will embed with client engineering teams to design, build, and deliver production‑ready implementations of Vault and related products, working across backend development, systems integration, and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Embed on‑site and remotely with client teams to deliver end‑to‑end implementations, from initial design through production readiness.
• Own the technical success of each engagement, ensuring solutions work in practice, not just on paper.
• Collaborate with client architects, engineers, and programme leads to translate business requirements into technical delivery plans.
• Act as the technical point of contact, building trust through deep competence and consistent delivery.
• Write production‑quality code (primarily Python and Go) to build integrations, tooling, data pipelines, and contribute to core products.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated and able to work autonomously in complex, client‑facing environments.
• Willingness to travel to client sites up to 25% of the time.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
