Forward Deployed AI Engineer

About the role

As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer at Sardine, you will bridge cutting‑edge AI capabilities with clients’ fraud and compliance challenges, embedding directly with them to design, train and deploy custom AI agents and intelligent workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Embed with clients to gather requirements and translate operational challenges into technical architectures.
• Train, fine‑tune and deploy custom AI agents to prevent fraud and automate fin‑crime workflows.
• Apply advanced prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and safety measures to optimize AI performance.
• Champion an AI‑first approach, demonstrating business impact across client engagements.
• Establish AI risk metrics, datasets, and evaluation pipelines to measure causal impact.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and product teams to scale models into production.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in Data Science or Applied AI.
• Self‑motivated with extreme ownership and a “get‑things‑done” mentality.
• Ability to translate ambiguous client challenges into concrete requirements and deliver end‑to‑end solutions.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with prompt engineering and fine‑tuning large language models.
