Forklift Operator (15K-36K) – Houston, TX

About the role

Watco is seeking a reliable Forklift Operator to support high‑performance warehouse operations in Houston, TX. The position offers a starting pay of $21 per hour and requires flexibility to work day, night, weekend and overtime shifts as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a range of forklifts (8k‑65k capacity) safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre‑use and ongoing equipment inspections and report any issues.
• Load, unload, stack, and move materials while adhering to weight limits and load‑distribution protocols.
• Communicate with operational stakeholders throughout the shift to ensure smooth workflow.
• Wear all required Watco and OSHA personal protective equipment.
• Assist teammates, follow directions, and take on additional tasks as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Valid TWIC card.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• 3 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.

Required skills

• Operation of forklifts ranging from 8k to 65k capacity.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment inspection, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Understanding of weight limits, load distribution and material storage protocols.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or handheld scanners.
