Forklift Mechanic – Maintenance & Repair

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to join its Chicago service center. The role involves maintaining a fleet of forklifts, pallet jacks, and hydraulic lifts in a fast‑paced environment while ensuring safety and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Rebuild, repair, and maintain forklifts, pallet jacks, and hydraulic lifts.
• Perform other duties as required by management, including lifting up to 125 lb.

Required profile

• Clean driving record for the past five years.
• At least three years of experience repairing and maintaining industrial fork trucks.
• Experience with electric and manual pallet jack repair and maintenance.
• Own tools on site (company provides specialized tools).
• Ability to lift 100 lb and work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Industrial forklift repair and maintenance.
• Electric pallet jack repair.
• Manual pallet jack repair.
• Aerial lift repair and maintenance (plus).
• Computer use for creating repair work orders.
