Foreman – Data Center IT Infrastructure (Ashburn, VA)

About the role

ServicePoint IT is seeking a proactive Foreman to lead on‑site data‑center and commercial IT infrastructure projects. The role starts with six months onsite in Buffalo, NY before transitioning to a permanent location in Ashburn, VA.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise crews installing copper/fiber cabling, server racks, network gear, and power systems.
• Interpret and implement project blueprints, floor plans, and technical documentation.
• Ensure all work meets ServicePoint IT’s quality, technical, and safety standards.
• Organize job‑site logistics, tool allocation, and material staging for deployments.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, progress updates, and team timekeeping.
• Liaise with superintendents, project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
• Perform field‑level quality assurance and troubleshoot cabling and hardware installations.
• Enforce OSHA and company safety standards, especially for work at heights, confined spaces, and high‑density rack environments.
• Coach, train, and evaluate junior technicians on data‑center best practices and structured‑cabling techniques.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience in data‑center or commercial IT infrastructure installation.
• 2+ years in a leadership, supervisory, or foreman role.
• Proficiency in structured cabling, fiber optics, and hardware installation within data‑center environments.
• Strong ability to create reports and manipulate data using Excel.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with TIA/EIA standards, NEC, and OSHA requirements.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
