Food Service Worker – Muscogee YDC (Midland, GA)

About the role

Under direct supervision, you will learn to prepare, heat and finish cooking food items, serve customers, and handle cash transactions in a state‑run food service environment. The position also includes maintaining a clean and sanitary work area.

Key responsibilities

• Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
• Peel, slice, trim, and prepare foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances.
• Assist with food supply requisitions and conduct sanitation and maintenance inspections.
• Receive and disburse payments for food items.
• Replenish supplies of food, condiments, and equipment at steam tables and service bars.
• Store food in designated containers to prevent spoilage.
• Unpack and store raw and prepared food products.

Required profile

• An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or internship experience, training, or certifications that enables successful performance of the duties.

Required skills

• Operation of food preparation equipment (manual and electric).
• Cash handling and basic monetary transactions.
