Fleet Specialist - Night Shift

About the role

Waabi is building generative AI for autonomous trucks and needs a night‑shift Fleet Specialist to prepare vehicles, monitor autonomous missions, and turn on‑road events into actionable data for engineers. You will be the first technical eyes on any issue during the night shift, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle systems for manual and autonomous missions, including firmware verification, mission container configuration, and trailer load checks.
• Launch, monitor, and close missions using the Waabi App, Jira, and Linux terminal, ensuring data off‑load and accurate documentation.
• Observe vehicle and autonomy status from the front‑right seat, relay system state to the Vehicle Operator, and call for disengagement when safety is at risk.
• Annotate on‑road events, categorize disengagements, and report mission performance using Waabi’s safety risk framework.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip documentation, sensor photography, hardware inspections, and manage data drives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in operations, logistics, technical support, or vehicle testing preferred.
• Strong technical aptitude with comfort using command‑line tools, container logs, and fault handling.
• Excellent written communication and meticulous documentation skills.
• Ability to work overnight, weekends, holidays, and up to 14‑hour shifts, with flexibility for travel.
• Physical ability to climb on Class 8 tractors and trailers for inspections.
