Fleet Specialist III – Transportation Department

About the role

The Fleet Specialist III will lead coordination of monitoring, evaluation and management of Incident Response Department vehicles and equipment. This includes field inspections, troubleshooting, equipment repair facilitation, record keeping and related training.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections, verify maintenance needs, and maintain vehicle records and inventory.
• Develop and maintain troubleshooting processes for vehicle issues and evaluate repair options.
• Ensure accurate maintenance and repair documentation for all fleet assets.
• Identify recurring equipment problems, recommend preventive actions, and provide operator training.
• Deliver equipment and vehicle‑related training sessions.
• Evaluate and prioritize fleet and equipment replacement needs.
• Serve as unit instructor for transport operations courses and support emergency response activities.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Six (6) years of related experience in fleet or transportation management.
• Valid Texas Commercial Class B Driver’s License.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
