First Line Manager – ESP Assembly Operations

About the role

The First Line Manager (FLM) will lead the ESP Assembly Operations at Bosch Charleston, driving daily execution and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. You will empower a team of skilled and semi‑skilled associates, champion lean methodologies, and use data to meet and exceed production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Shift Leader for Assembly Operations across the CC Value Stream (ESP).
• Identify and lead improvement projects focused on safety, cost, quality, delivery, and utilization.
• Perform process confirmation on work standards and correct deviations.
• Lead training and development of associates.
• Monitor daily performance using MES and analytics to achieve targets.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles (BPS) to optimize people, information, and material flow.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation and quality plans.
• Support performance and career development of team members.
• Promote a customer‑focused team environment and handle additional assignments as directed.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree with 1‑3 years of technical or leadership experience (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Experience in high‑volume, technology‑driven manufacturing, preferably automotive.
• Proven ability to lead projects and prioritize workload to meet targets.
• Strong self‑initiative and ability to work on cross‑functional teams.
• Experience with highly automated equipment technologies.

Required skills

• MES systems (e.g., Promaster).
• SAP.
• Data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
• Lean manufacturing concepts and BPS methodology.
