About the role
Maryland Environmental Service is seeking a First Grade Stationary Engineer to operate and maintain fire‑tube boilers and auxiliary equipment at the Central Maryland Correctional Facility steam plant in Sykesville, MD. This part‑time position supports the production of steam for public and private sector clients across the state.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure efficient operation of fire‑tube boilers and related equipment.
- Maintain daily logs, track tasks, and communicate status to the Chief Engineer.
- Perform routine maintenance and respond to equipment issues as assigned.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED with at least three years of steam plant experience.
- Valid First Grade State of Maryland Stationary Engineer license.
- Valid driver’s license with fewer than five points.
