Financial Operations Specialist

About the role

Clay is looking for a Financial Operations hire to join its growing accounting team. The role will own day‑to‑day accounting operations, spanning accounts payable, cash management, fixed assets, and employee finance support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle, from invoice intake to payment processing and vendor reconciliation.
• Perform daily cash monitoring, bank reconciliations across multiple entities and currencies, and support wire transfers and international payments.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, handle additions, disposals, depreciation schedules, and coordinate asset tracking with engineering and workplace teams.
• Serve as the point of contact for employee expense reports, corporate travel administration, and payroll‑related accounting entries.
• Prepare journal entries for month‑end close, support internal and external audit requests, and identify automation opportunities during the ERP transition.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of accounting or financial operations experience, preferably in a high‑growth SaaS or startup environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and a service‑oriented mindset when supporting internal stakeholders.

Required skills

• Accounts Payable, cash reconciliation, and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Experience with modern finance tools such as NetSuite, Rippling, or Ramp.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and capitalization policies.
