Financial Controller

About the role

Permutive is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead the accounting function for its US and UK entities. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own the integrity of the books, ensure timely closes, and maintain full statutory compliance across both regions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, including GL management, reconciliations, accruals and inter‑company eliminations.
• Prepare US GAAP‑compliant financial statements and coordinate the annual audit and external auditor relationship.
• Drive revenue recognition under ASC 606 for subscription and usage‑based contracts, documenting positions and handling edge cases.
• Oversee US compliance: federal and state income tax filings, multi‑state SALT, payroll taxes, 401(k) administration, Form 5500, and 1099/1042 reporting.
• Oversee UK compliance: Companies House filings, CT600 corporation tax return, PAYE & RTI submissions, P11D(b), workplace pension auto‑enrolment, VAT returns and related filings.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a controller or senior controller role within a multinational environment.
• Proven track record of managing full‑cycle accounting and statutory compliance in both the US and UK.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work hands‑on in a lean finance team.

Required skills

• US GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• US federal and state tax compliance, including SALT and payroll tax.
• UK statutory reporting: Companies House, CT600, PAYE/RTI, VAT.
