Senior Accountant

About the role

Petite Plume is looking for a hands‑on Senior Accountant to partner with the Accounting Manager. In a lean finance team you will own key parts of the monthly and annual close, ensure accurate reporting and help scale accounting processes for both e‑commerce and wholesale channels.

Key responsibilities

• Own assigned areas of the monthly and annual close, including journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and resolve root causes promptly.
• Reconcile revenue, cash receipts and merchant settlements across e‑commerce, wholesale and payment platforms, accounting for returns, refunds and fees.
• Support inventory and COGS accounting, including reserves, landed costs, freight, duties, physical counts and period‑end cut‑offs.
• Identify control gaps and implement scalable solutions, including automation of AP, AR and cash‑application workflows.
• Maintain audit schedules, respond to external auditor requests and support tax and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience preparing financial statements.
• Proven ability to manage month‑end close and general‑ledger processes independently.
• Excellent organizational, communication and problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for high‑volume data analysis.
• ERP/accounting‑system expertise, especially NetSuite.
• Experience with Shopify, Concur or Bill.com platforms.
