Financial Analyst Supervisor

About the role

The State of Georgia Department of Education is hiring a Financial Analyst Supervisor to serve as the primary liaison between three State Schools and the central office. Reporting to the State Schools Budget & Finance Manager, the role oversees contract processes, procurement, and financial operations while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate communication and collaboration among the three State Schools and the GaDOE Contracts Support Unit.
• Oversee new and renewal contract processes from initiation through execution, review, and closeout.
• Perform buyer functions, including creating purchase requisitions and generating receivers.
• Process accounts payable receipts/invoices and reconcile the My School Bucks cash management system.
• Support federal program budgeting, financial reporting, and procurement activities.
• Manage P‑card usage, reconciliation, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies.

Required profile

• Associate degree with four years of relevant accounting experience, including two years in a supervisory or lead role, or six years of general accounting experience with two years supervisory.
• Two or more years of governmental accounting experience at paraprofessional or professional level.
• Experience preparing detailed accounting and budget reports.
• Knowledge of GAAP and federal program financial requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
• Experience with financial software, TGM, accounts receivable, accounts payable, requisitions, purchase orders, and vendor management.
• Ability to use and reconcile purchasing cards (P‑card).
• Bank account reconciliation skills.
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
