Financial Analyst – Costing & Gross Margin (World Wide Operations)

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions, is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join its World‑Wide Operations Costing/Gross Margin team. The role supports financial reporting, forecasting, and business analysis for a Semiconductor Business Group, partnering closely with business segments to deliver actionable analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze built material costs and reconcile weekly to ensure correct tool valuation against Bill of Materials.
• Investigate production order material variances, communicate findings to Operations, and resolve identified issues.
• Support World‑Wide Operations teams in addressing systemic finance attribute problems that hinder transaction processing.
• Complete detailed requirements for monthly/quarterly close processes, including Work In Progress, Finished Goods, Deferred and Evaluation Inventory.
• Lead aged WIP inventory reviews, reserve analysis, and balance sheet review meetings with finance controllers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field.
• 3–5 years of finance/accounting experience in a reputable organization.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proactive communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Experience navigating fast‑paced environments with changing priorities.
